Настоящий турист не теряется никогда, он просто разведывает новую территорию! Но что делать в незнакомой дикой местности, если с собой нет компаса или GPS? Существует ряд методов ориентирования, позволяющих обойтись без компаса и навигационных устройств.
Способы ориентирования на местности без компаса
Существуют разные приемы ориентирования в лесу. Не все методы являются точными, желательно определять стороны горизонта при помощи сразу нескольких из них (Рисунок 1).
Наиболее простыми и распространенными методами ориентирования являются:
- По деревьям.
- По мхам и лишайникам.
- По муравейникам.
- По крестам храмов (церквей).
- По просекам.
- По Солнцу.
- По звездам.
- По Луне.

Ориентирование по деревьям
Для более точной ориентации в лесу желательно присмотреться к нескольким древесным стволам, а не делать выводы по одному-двум.
Сориентироваться на местности по деревьям можно несколькими способами:
- Если присмотреться к деревьям, то можно увидеть, что листьев с южной стороны больше и они более густые, на северной же стороне листьев меньше. Причиной такому явлению то, что в северном полушарии планеты солнце проходит по южной стороне, и с этой стороны больше тепла (Рисунок 2).
- С северной стороны древесная кора более темная и грубая. Лучше всего это наблюдается у сосны, лиственницы, березы, осины.
- Обычно после дождя сосновые стволы темнеют с северной стороны дерева, что обуславливается вторичной коркой, быстрее нарастающей именно с северной стороны.
- Грибы на деревьях чаще вырастают с северной стороны стволов, особенно это заметно в сухое время (северная часть дерева дольше хранит влагу, необходимую для роста гриба).

Ориентирование по мхам и лишайникам
Один из наиболее общеизвестных методов ориентации на местности – по мхам и лишайникам. На северной стороне древесных стволов и камней мох растет более обильно, нежели на южной, ввиду того, что солнце меньше его сушит (Рисунок 3). На старых пнях практически всегда растёт мох, что также может послужить ориентиром: хоть пень может быть и покрыт мхом со всех сторон, с северной стороны он более влажный.

Ориентирование на местности по муравейнику
Муравьи – теплолюбивые насекомые и ориентироваться по сторонам света можно благодаря муравейнику. Обычно муравьи строят свою колонию с южной стороны древесных стволов. Чтобы муравейник лучше прогревался, южный склон «муравьиного дома» − более пологий, нежели северный (Рисунок 4).

Если необходимо сориентироваться на местности, и невдалеке видна православная церковь – обратите внимание на крест, венчающий купол храма. Нижняя косая (диагональная) перекладина креста нижней частью указывает на юг, а верхней – на север (Рисунок 5).
Православные храмы строятся строго с ориентацией на стороны света.
Если вы обнаружили просеку в лесу и двигаетесь по ней, иногда можно отыскать столб с цифрами, указывающими номер «квадрата». Просечный столб может помочь определить стороны света: цифры с наименьшим значением показывают на север.

Ориентирование по звездам – один из наиболее достоверных вариантов определения сторон света. Вместе с тем, для новичка данный способ может представлять сложность – не каждый может отыскать нужное созвездие. Главное, найти на небосклоне Полярную звезду, она не является самой яркой на ночном небе, как полагаю многие.
Для ориентации по звездам требуется некоторая практика.
Если определение сторон света по звездному небу вам может понадобиться в будущем, желательно потренироваться в знакомых (не походных) условиях.

Полярная звезда уже несколько сотен лет помогает определить направлениеНа звездном небе нужно найти специфическую фигуру из 7 ярких звёзд созвездия Большой Медведицы, визуально напоминающего ковш с ручкой. 3 звезды «образуют ручку», 4 – «емкость» самого ковша. Нужно умозрительно соединить прямой линией 2 звезды (Дубхе и Мерак), расположенные на правом краю (стенке) ковша. Далее продолжить прямую линию (условно отложить 5 раз расстояние, отделяющее упомянутые Дубхе и Мерак) до находящейся с краю звезды на представляемой «ручке» Малой Медведицы (также меньший «ковш» из 7 звезд). Эта звезда − Полярная (всегда показывает исключительно на север). Высота звезды над горизонтом совпадает с широтой наблюдающего человека.
В Южном полушарии звездное небо кардинально отличается от Северного полушария. Главным ориентиром по сторонам света в Южном полушарии служит созвездие Южного креста (Рисунок 7), состоящее из 5 ярких звезд. 4 звезды умозрительно располагаются в форме креста. Одна из условных линий будет превышать вторую по длине – одна из звезд Южного креста наблюдается дальше других, получается своеобразный крест с ручкой, которую нужно визуально продлить в 4 раза и «провести» вертикально к линии горизонта – юг найден! Если дождаться момента, когда Южный крест встанет на небе вертикально, то ручка будет направлена строго на юг. При наблюдении важно не принять Ложный крест (не указывающий на Южный полюс) за Южный крест.

На практике ориентирование по Ориону существенно сложнее, нежели по Южному кресту. Для ориентирования используются 3 ярких звезды на поясе созвездия: в момент восхода они направлены на восток, в момент захода – на запад.
Ориентирование по луне
Ориентироваться по луне по луне достаточно сложно, а точность – не слишком высока. Но порой это наиболее доступный способ. Луна часто просматривается даже через плотный облачный покров, когда не видны звезды.
Луна проходит ряд фаз солнечной освещенности:
- Новолуние – Луна фактически не видна.
- Первая четверть – освещена правая половина Луны.
- Полнолуние – освещен весь диск Луны.
- Последняя четверть – освещена левая половина Луны (Рисунок 8).
Если серп луны условно напоминает букву «Р» – Луна растущая (до полнолуния, включая первую четверть), если букву «С» – стареющая (после полнолуния, включая последнюю четверть). Растущая чаще наблюдается вечером, стареющая – утром. Полнолуние – наиболее благоприятное время для определения направлений горизонта.

Также можно ориентироваться при помощи часов как и по дневному светилу, но определяется не время истинного полдня (сориентируйся человек по Солнцу), а момент верхней кульминации. Во время полнолуния данный момент и местная полночь совпадают, ориентирование по полному диску Луны осуществляется подобно ориентации по Солнцу.
Проблема в том, что умозрительно определить находится ли Луна в фазе полнолуния нельзя.
На протяжении нескольких дней до и после полнолуния вид ночного светила почти неизменен, а отклонение, которое вызвано неверной фазой может быть весьма значительным, за сутки лунный диск смещается на 12°.В 1/4 Луна достигает кульминации за 6 часов до полуночи, в последней 1/4 – через 6 часов после местной полуночи. Так как момент 1/4 визуально определяется легко – ориентирование выполняется более точно.
Существует общее правило для ориентирования при помощи Луны – требуется умозрительно разделить диаметр ночного светила на 12 долей и определить сколько частей занимает неосвещенная часть Луны – ровно на столько и будет отличаться время кульминации от местной полуночи. Растущая луна кульминирует до 00:00, стареющая – после.
Наибольшие отклонения при данном способе возможны ближе к новолунию и полнолунию. Имея некоторый опыт, стороны горизонта можно определить с погрешностью до 10-15°.
Ориентирование по солнцу
В ясную погоду можно сориентироваться на местности при помощи механических часов. Большую стрелку часов нужно повернуть так, чтобы она указывала строго на солнце. После требуется визуально проложить угол между стрелкой, нацеленной на солнце и 13 часами (1 час). Через данный острый угол проводим биссектрису, делящую острый угол пополам. Умозрительно представляем стрелу, лежащую на этой биссектрисе, эта стрела и укажет на север. До полудня делим угол, расположенный до 13:00, после полудня – угол, образовавшийся после 13:00 (Рисунок 9).

В Южном полушарии солнце располагается с другой стороны. Соответственно ориентироваться по часам или «аналогу» нужно четко наоборот – проделав процедуру, описанную выше, можно определить юг, а не север.
Также стоит учитывать общеизвестный факт, что в Северном полушарии солнце восходит на востоке, садится – на западе, в зените солнце находится в южном направлении. В Южном полушарии солнечный диск в наивысшей точке является ориентиром на север, а не на юг. Подобное ориентирование, конечно же, является весьма условным.
Другие способы
При необходимости сориентироваться в холодное время года, можно присмотреться к снегу. С южной стороны снежный покров быстрее прогревается и тает интенсивнее, чем с северной.
Осенью перелетные птицы направляются к югу, а весной – к северу.
Южные склоны возвышенностей, холмов, гор, зачастую суше северных, на них меньше дерна (травы), они подвергаются большей эрозии.
Не отчаивайтесь, если вы оказались в диких условиях без компаса или GPS! Помните: спокойствие, соблюдение правил поведения в лесу, применение методов ориентирования на местности всегда помогут найти верное направление и дорогу!

Ориентирование в лесу: как не заблудиться в трех соснах.
Потеряться можно даже в хорошо знакомом лесу, что уж говорить про незнакомую местность. Чаще всего люди, увлекшись погоней за зверем или сбором ягод и грибов, в один момент перестают понимать, где они находятся. Что же делать в такой ситуации? В первую очередь остановиться и успокоиться.
Самый лучший и верный вариант – иметь при себе компас (а еще лучше вместе с картой местности), и в начале своего движения выбрать по направлению к какой стороне света вы будете идти. В таком случае не составит труда вернуться в обратном направлении.
При движении старайтесь запоминать особо примечательные особенности местности: тропинки, муравейники, овраги, упавшие деревья – позже это сможет послужить вам ориентиром при возвращении. Как только вы поняли, что что-то пошло не так, лучше присесть и привести мысли в порядок. Постарайтесь вспомнить свой путь, прислушайтесь. Если вы недалеко от населенных пунктов, то прислушайтесь – звуки хорошо слышны на пересеченной местности, и, скажем, лай собаки из ближайшего населенного пункта вы услышите на расстоянии 2-3 км, работающий трактор – с 3-4 км, шум железной дороги — с 10 км.
Солнце – ваш друг при ориентировании.
Обращайте внимание на то, с какой стороны было солнце. С помощью солнца и часов тоже можно определить направления света. Для того, чтобы это осуществить, достаточно направить часовую стрелку на солнце. Линия север-юг будет биссектрисой угла между часовой стрелкой, направленной на солнце и линией 1 часа. В первой половине дня юг будет справа от солнца, а после обеда наоборот – слева.
Природа — определяла стороны света до появления компаса.
Если солнца не видно (туман, тучи), то сориентироваться в лесу поможет природа.
Обратите внимание на окружающую растительность и деревья.
На юг указывают:
- в северном полушарии большее количества света и тепла поступает с юга, поэтому крона деревьев пышнее и гуще, а ветки длиннее и вытянутее именно с южной стороны. Особенно это заметно на отдельно стоящих деревьях;
- кора березы и осины с юга более чистая и светлая;
- подтеки сосновой смолы также указывают на южное направление;
- южный склон холма будет более травянистый и зеленый в начале лета, и более выжженный и сухой во второй половине лета;
- обратите внимание на муравейник: под камнем или пнем он будет располагаться с южной стороны, склон отдельно стоящего муравейника будет более пологим также с южной стороны.
На север указывают:
- Кора березы и осины с северной стороны будет более грубой и темной;
- После дождя и в сырую погоду стволы деревьев хвойных пород чернеют с северной стороны, что особенно заметно у сосны. Это объясняется тем, что на сосновой коре развита тонкая вторичная корка, которая образуется раньше на теневой стороне ствола и заходит выше, чем на южной. Во время дождя эта корка темнеет и набухает, а поскольку солнечные лучи на нее почти не попадают, то и сохнет она дольше;
- Роса дольше сохраняется на северном склоне холма;
- Мхи и лишайники – тенелюбивые и влаголюбивые растения — гуще растут с северной стороны деревьев и камней. Мох с северной стороны более влажный.
Это не распространяются на густолесье и лесную чащу – лесная глубинка живет по своим законам. Лучше пользоваться этими приметами на лесной опушке.
Высоко сижу – далеко гляжу.
Постарайтесь взобраться на дерево или другую возвышенность, чтобы осмотреться и возможно заметить глобальные ориентиры. Увидев длинный провал в кронах леса, можно обнаружить реку, просеку, дорогу. Понижение рельефа, овраги могут привести к ручьям, а те в свою очередь – к рекам.
Наибольший интерес и ценность для определения сторон горизонта представляют поляны, опушки, просеки с отдельно стоящими на них деревьями, растениями и объектами, на которых в значительно большей мере проявляется воздействие солнечного тепла. Информация, полученная на основе таких примет, несколько раз перепроверенная разными способами, может дать довольно ясное представление о расположении сторон горизонта.
Ориентирование в лесу по лесным просекам.
Если вы блуждаете не в глухой тайге, то скорее всего наткнетесь на квартальные столбы.
Как правило, просеки прорубают по направлениям север-юг и восток-запад. Лес, таким образом, делится на кварталы, которые нумеруются с запада на восток и с севера на юг: первый номер ставится в северо-западном углу, а последний – в юго-восточном. На пересечении просек устанавливают квартальные столбы, верхняя часть которых обтесывается в виде граней. На каждой грани подписывается номер противолежащего ей квартала. Ребро между двумя наименьшими цифрами указывает направление на север. Нужно, однако, учесть, что иногда по хозяйственным соображениям просеки прорубают, никак не соотносясь со сторонами горизонта…
Никогда не пытайтесь определить стороны света только по какому-то одному признаку. Только совокупность признаков, повторяющаяся не один раз, сможет гарантировать определение сторон света.
Всегда есть опасность начать ходить кругами – так уж устроен наш организм, отклоняющий нас при движении в какую-то одну сторону. Для движения по прямой выберите прямо перед собой ориентир, дойдя до него, выберите следующий ориентир и так далее. Еще один прием – привязать к себе длинную веревку или трос. Пройдя прямо расстояние приблизительно равное длине веревки, оглянитесь: если веревка изогнулась, значит нужно корректировать курс.
Едва лишь появились сомнения в правильности выбранного направления движения, нужно тотчас остановиться и попытаться восстановить ориентировку. Если сделать это не удается, нужно возвращаться по своим следам. При этом не надо срезать петли и углы – попытка таким образом сэкономить силы и время обычно ни к чему хорошему не приводит и чревата утратой последней возможности определить свое местоположение.
Лес не терпит ошибок, спешки, самоуверенности и риска. Если вы успокоитесь и включите голову, то лес поможет вам найти дорогу. Но если подходить к ориентированию в паническом состоянии, то может статься так, что волкам не нужно будет выходить на окраину в поисках пропитания.

По солнцу
Как ориентироваться в лесу по солнцу? Этим способом можно воспользоваться только в ясную погоду. Существует несколько методов определения сторон света.
Солнце всегда восходит с восточной стороны, а заходит — с западной. В середине дня оно располагается на юге (в северной части земного шара). Если же вы заблудились в лесу Южного полушария, то в полдень солнце будет находиться со стороны севера.
Как можно ориентироваться в лесу с помощью часов в солнечную погоду? Определить северную сторону вам поможет следующий способ:
- Нужно встать таким образом, чтобы часовая стрелка была обращена к солнцу.
- Мысленно надо начертить угол между часовой стрелкой и отметкой «13» (или «1») на циферблате. Затем его нужно визуально разделить пополам прямой линией (биссектрисой).
- До 13 часов север будет находиться слева от солнца, а после — справа. В Южном полушарии положение севера будет прямо противоположным.
Если вы сможете найти в лесу палку, то можно попробовать изготовить шест-гномон. Однако сориентироваться с его помощью можно только в полуденное время. Палку нужно вкопать в землю. Около полудня тень от шеста будет указывать на север. Для точного ориентирования нужно выбирать достаточно длинную палку.
По растениям
Как ориентироваться в лесу без компаса в пасмурный день? Ведь определить стороны горизонта по солнцу можно только при безоблачной погоде. В этом случае нужно присмотреться к деревьям. Правильно сориентироваться вам помогут следующие признаки:
- Можно заметить, что одна сторона коры имеет более темную окраску, а другая — более светлую. Такая особенность наиболее выражена у хвойных деревьев. Темная кора находится с северной стороны. Ее цвет обусловлен меньшим воздействием солнечного света.
- Нужно также обратить снимание на смолу хвойных деревьев. Ее наибольшее выделение наблюдается на южной стороне. А рост мхов, лишайников и грибов на коре чаще отмечается в северной части.
В летнее время можно присмотреться к цвету ягод. Обычно они быстрее созревают с южной стороны. А та часть ягод, которая обращена к северу, имеет зеленоватый цвет.
По животным
Как ориентироваться в лесу, наблюдая за поведением животных? В определенное время года стороны горизонта можно определить по перелетным птицам. Осенью их стаи летят в направлении юга, а весной — на север.
Если вы обнаружили муравейник, то с его помощью можно сориентироваться. Нужно обратить внимание на его форму. В северной части муравейник имеет более крутой склон, а в южной — пологий.
Летом полезно также присмотреться к бабочкам. Нужно проследить за поведением этих насекомых во время отдыха. Когда бабочка садится на цветок, она держит крылья в сложенном положении. Таким образом она пытается защитить их от солнца. В утренние часы сложенные крылья обращены к востоку, днем — к югу, а вечером — к западу.
По лесным просекам
Рассмотрим ориентирование в лесу по просекам. В наши дни многие крупные зеленые массивы поделены на кварталы. Между этими квадратами организованы тропинки — просеки. Их прорубают в направлении север — юг или запад — восток. На пересечении этих дорожек устанавливают специальные столбы, которые могут служить довольно надежным ориентиром.
Эти столбики представляют собой вбитые в землю бревна четырехгранной формы. На каждой грани написаны цифры, которые обозначают номер квартала. К ним необходимо присмотреться. Нужно найти две грани с наименьшими значениями цифр. Ребро столба между ними всегда обращено в северную сторону.
Ночью
Как ориентироваться в лесу в ночное время? В темное время суток не рекомендуется активно перемещаться. Существует большой риск получения травмы или нападения диких зверей. Ночь лучше переждать у костра. Однако если вам необходимо выбраться из леса после захода солнца, то можно попробовать сориентироваться по звездам.
Нужно отыскать на ночном небе созвездие Большой Медведицы. Оно выглядит как ковш. На территории России это созвездие можно увидеть в любой сезон. Две его крайних звезды (ручка ковша) обращены к Полярной звезде, которая входит в Малую Медведицу. Это созвездие похожей формы, только меньших размеров.
Нужно мысленно соединить «ручку ковша» с Полярной звездой прямой линией. Это направление укажет на север.
В ясную ночь можно попытаться найти на небе Млечный путь. Это скопление звезд имеет вид полоски. Оно проходит строго в направлении с севера на юг.
В зимнее время
Как ориентироваться в лесу зимой? Можно использовать все вышеуказанные способы. Однако в конце зимы можно определить стороны света по таянию снега. Нужно обратить внимание на ямки в сугробах вокруг деревьев и пней. Эти проталины обычно обращены на юг.
Также можно присмотреться к склонам оврагов и холмиков. На их северной стороне снег тает более активно.
Заключение
Если вы заблудились в лесу, то нельзя определять сторону света по какому-либо одному признаку. Так можно очень легко ошибиться и уйти в неправильном направлении. Бывает, что ориентирование по Луне является чуть ли не единственным способом ориентации ночью, например тогда, когда на небе тучи и лишь уникальное положение Луны, как правило из-за её яркости, позволяет определиться на местности.
Полярную звезду возможно обнаружить, если знать созвездия Большой и Малой Медведицы. Созвездие Большой Медведицы состоит из 7-и звёзд различной величины и в форме большого «ковша».
А по-хорошему, чтобы не блуждать по ночному лесу, не ломать себе ноги и не набивать шишки (ведь ночью в лесу ни черта не видно), и тем более не нарываться на встречу с какими-либо дикими лесными обитателями (пусть и не самыми страшными), уместным будет такое правило ориентации в лесу: ✎ Способы ориентации в лесуПри перемещении по лесополосе следует внимательно запоминать самые броские элементы ландшафта, такие как: холмы и овраги, канавы и поляны, ручьи и болота. Способы ориентирования в лесу
Вы заблудились в лесу, компаса нет, солнце помогло бы определить направление, но оно сегодня скрыто за плотной пеленой облаков. Что же делать в таком случае? Можно попытаться определить стороны горизонта по луне или звездам, но в ваши планы наверняка не входит провести ночь в лесу, да и не факт, что они тоже будут видны. Самое главное в этом случае сохранить выдержку и спокойствие. Проявим знания, наблюдательность и предметы нас окружающие подскажут нам направление сторон света.
Определение сторон горизонта
По деревьям и растениям
В лесу, внимательно присмотревшись к деревьям, вы заметите, что окрас коры некоторых деревьев не однороден — с одной стороны она светлее, а с другой темнее. Наиболее четко проявляется такая особенность на сосне в виде темной полосы идущей от комля дерева к вершине. Эта полоса образуется от недостатка солнечного света и находится с северной стороны.
На южной стороне хвойных деревьев смола выступает больше, чем с северной.
Лишайники и мох с северной стороны деревьев (камней) растут обильнее.
Лесные ягоды на пригорках и на болотах начинают созревать быстрее с южной стороны, та часть ягод, которая обращена к северу, дольше остается зеленой.
По насекомым
Вспомогательным признаком служит всем известное жилище муравьев, их форма укажет примерное направление на север: южная сторона муравейника имеет пологий склон, а северная крутой.
Если вы окажитесь летом в лесу на поляне посмотрите вокруг, где-нибудь обязательно увидите бабочек. Эти красивые насекомые также смогут помочь в определении направления. Бабочки во время отдыха складывают крылья и располагаются на цветке таким образом, чтобы под лучи солнца попадала как можно меньшая площадь крыльев. Поэтому утром сложенные ее крылья указывают на восток, в полдень — на юг, а вечером — на запад.
По просекам
Практически все наши леса поделены на кварталы просеками. Просеки прорубаются строго в направлении север-юг, или запад-восток. В местах их пересечения устанавливаются квартальные столбы.

Они изготовлены из срубленных деревьев, имеют вид вкопанного в землю и освобожденного от коры бревна высотой около метра, вершина которого имеет вид четырехгранника. На каждой грани нанесена цифра с номером квартала. Ребро между гранями, которые имеют наименьшие цифры, указывает на север.
Ориентирование зимой в лесу
С приходом холодов и выпадением снега для определения направления используем часть предыдущих способов, а также некоторые другие. Например, всем известно, что в конце зимы и весной набирающие силу лучи солнца образуют первые проталины: около деревьев, пней и столбов находящихся на открытых местах образуются вытянутые в южном направлении ямки, северные склоны оврагов и холмов быстрее освобождаются от снега. Эти приметы и подскажут направление на юг.

В ночное время по лесу лучше не передвигаться, есть большая вероятность получить повреждение пробираясь сквозь дебри, также не исключена встреча с дикими животными, поэтому лучше переждать ее у костра. Но если в этом есть необходимость, определить направление движения помогут только луна и звезды. А как это сделать можно прочитать вот здесь.
В заключение хочется добавить, что неоценимую помощь в благополучном посещении леса окажет ваша предусмотрительность и память. По пути к лесу запоминайте встречающиеся ориентиры: линии электропередач, реки, автомобильные и железные дороги, а в самом лесу обратите внимание на такие объекты как глубокие овраги, большие поляны, деревья, лесные дороги и т.д.
Прежде чем зайти в лес посмотрите на облака, запомните в каком направлении они двигаются, в дальнейшем они помогут определить примерный путь назад т.к. их движение в течении длительного времени остается неизменным.
И еще не стоит забывать, что каждый способ не даст точного направления, поэтому необходимо их проверять другими приметами, делая вывод только на их комплексе.
